“The Digital Daana” campaign was launched on 26th January 2021 for lower income background students. __It is a mission to enable access to Digital Education for 1 Million children by 2023__ Metta Social solutions Pvt Ltd, MIT Art, Design and Technology University,India Global along with its partners: Hope for the Children Foundation, Nanhe Farishte and MSME for business has launched the “Digital Daana” campaign on 26 January 2021. This a fundraiser campaign to provide 10,000 laptops, over the next 6 months, to underprivileged families and thereby impact nearly 20,000 children. There are over 400 million students in India. The "Digital Divide” may push back the students progress by 2-3 years and will leave a long-lasting negative impact on child development, said Mr Iftekhar Pathan, Co-Founder of Metta Social solutions Pvt Ltd, and Dr Sunita Karad, Dean MITCOM, at the Press conference. Mr Pathan Stated that DIGITAL DAANA is an initiative by India Global & Metta Social along with its Education Partner - MIT-ADT University & Associate Partners to bridge this DIGITAL DIVIDE. Prof. Dr Sunita Karad, Dean, MIT College of Management said that due to the pandemic there has been a void as far as the classroom education is concerned, “ She further added that education institutes need to adapt to the changing times and do their bit for digital and online education. Blended learning is the future of education." Digital Daana initiative will run for 3 years and hopes to reach a large number of deserving students. Mr Vishal Naik, Co-Founder, and CEO of Metta Social solutions Pvt Ltd stated that we have targeted 1 million students, and have built a smart tech platform that will measure the impact of these donations on the lives of children. He further added that utmost transparency has been kept so as to enable the Indian diaspora abroad and in India to donate with full confidence. __Metta Social:__ Metta Social strives to help the Social Purpose organizations (SPOs) to create a better tomorrow.
