Frequently Asked Questions

Q1What is Digital Daana?

Digital Daana is an initiative by IndiaGlobal and Metta Social along with their associate partners to provide 10,000 digital kits to children from underserved households.

Now, Metta Social is keeping it open for NGO's registered with us to raise funds for their specific Campaign or Programme Needs.

The digital kit per household would contain:

A high-quality laptop (mentioning specifications of the laptop would be effective),

A laptop bag

A 4G dongle with 2 GB per day limit

An e-learning subscription

Digital Labs on wheels for remote areas

The total kit cost  = INR 35,000 (USD 500)

The breakup :

1 High-Quality Laptop + Bag

1 4G dongle with 2 GB per day limit

Subscription to e-learning platform

Having laptops will allow the students to access online classes, take e-learning courses, and do their assignments anywhere, effortlessly. Many skills such as coding cannot be learned using smartphones and tablets.

We would be providing the digital kits to children enrolled in grade 8th to 12th from low-income households, residing in Urban and semi-urban areas and validated by the local NGO partner.

Primary financial criteria: Children from the families whose family's annual income is up to Rs. 3.5 Lakhs only.

We will be reching out to rural areas as well in the future.

An Al fraud management software will be installed in every laptop that will allow us to track and restrict usage. They will be automatically monitored using our geofencing application.

Geofencing is a location-based service that will be in-built in the laptops. It will provide us with information on the laptop's current location.
